An air ambulance is a business jet configured for medical transport. At Premier Jets, our Learjet 35 and 36 aircraft are equipped with a medical stretcher system, oxygen, monitors, IV fluids, and emergency medications. The medical crew sits beside the patient, while accompanying family typically sits in the rear cabin.

Who needs an air ambulance?

Air ambulance services are for patients who are: Too far from appropriate medical care for ground transport, and Not medically stable enough to travel on a commercial airline. This includes critically ill patients, trauma patients, and those requiring specialized treatment closer to home.

How do I arrange air ambulance services?

What aircraft will transport me?

We operate a fleet of Learjet 35 and Learjet 36 aircraft—internationally recognized as some of the safest and most cost-effective air ambulance platforms in the world. Our Learjet 36 aircraft include extended-range tip tanks, allowing fewer stops, faster travel, and reduced mission cost.

Who will provide medical care during my flight?

A typical medical team includes two licensed clinicians, such as: A Critical Care Registered Nurse A Respiratory Therapist or Paramedic If medically necessary or requested by your physician, a flight doctor can be added.

How should I prepare for the flight?

Once booked, stay in close contact with your Premier Jets Flight Coordinator. Flights may last up to six hours, and cabin temperatures remain comfortable—though bringing a light jacket is recommended.

Do I need to arrange my own ground ambulance?

You may, but we strongly recommend letting Premier Jets manage both sending and receiving ground ambulances. This ensures: Smooth medical handoffs Correct timing with aircraft arrival Compliance with patient transfer protocols It prevents delays and communication gaps.

How much does an air ambulance cost?

Air ambulance pricing is based on: Total flight hours Return of the aircraft and crew International handling and landing fees Fuel Required medical or flight crew additions Crew lodging for multi-day missions Quotes are typically available within 1–2 hours once we have your mission details.

How many family members can travel?

Generally, one family member may accompany the patient. The cabin contains medical equipment, oxygen systems, and the clinical team, leaving limited space for additional passengers.

Are meals provided?

There is no galley, but we provide: Boxed meals Coffee Water Soft drinks Packaged snacks Special dietary requests can be accommodated with advance notice.

How much luggage can I bring?
